April 26, 2026, Agency — Planned talks between Iran and the United States in Pakistan have become uncertain after a scheduled visit was canceled, raising fresh doubts about diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between the two sides.

Earlier, the White House had announced that President Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and senior adviser Jared Kushner would travel to Pakistan for discussions. However, the trip was called off after Iran declined to participate in a new round of direct negotiations.

The development has cast uncertainty over Islamabad’s efforts to facilitate dialogue between Washington and Tehran, as tensions remain high and prospects for immediate talks appear unclear.
