The European Union (EU) has shown keen interest in extending cooperation and support to Nepal in areas prioritized by the current government. During a courtesy meeting held today, EU Ambassador to Nepal, Veronique Lorenzo met with Nepal’s Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Sasmit Pokharel, and reaffirmed the EU’s willingness to collaborate closely with Nepal.

The meeting, held at the ministry in Singha Durbar, focused on bilateral relations and ongoing cooperation in the education sector. Minister Pokharel appreciated the EU’s continued support in strengthening Nepal’s school education system, particularly in promoting equitable access to education, improving quality standards, and enhancing teacher professional development programs.

He also highlighted the possibility of expanding future cooperation in areas such as inclusive education, infrastructure development, and capacity-building initiatives for teachers.

Ambassador Lorenzo stated that the EU remains committed to supporting Nepal in line with the priorities of the newly formed government. She further expressed confidence in strengthening Nepal-EU relations through continued partnership and mutual cooperation.
