Paris, Sep 06,2024 – French President Emmanuel Macron has nominated Michel Barnier as the new Prime Minister of France.
No party was able to secure a majority to form the government following the elections held in July. Barnier, 73, who served as the chief negotiator for the United Kingdom’s exit from the European Union (Brexit), has been trusted by the President as a leader capable of bringing everyone together.
On July 16, Macron accepted the resignation of then-Prime Minister Gabriel Attal but requested him to continue as the acting head of the government until a new cabinet is formed. Agency
